Carrie chats with elite runner Keira D’Amato! Keira is not only a full-time realtor and mom, but she’s also super fast (she just ran 15:04 for 5K and finished 15th at the Olympic Marathon Trials in February)! They chat about her comeback to the sport, balancing work and running, and how she comes up with her patented Strava joke of the day!

Bio highlights: (no idea where to even start!)
– High School: Oakton Hall of Fame, 6-time Virginia State Champion, the dreaded 9th place at XC Footlocker Regionals… ugh, that was heartbreaking! HS PRs: 2:11 – 800, 4.51 – 1600, 10:30 – 3200
– College: American University Hall of Fame, 4-time All American, 6th place finish 2005 XC D1 Nats, I think I won 20+ conference titles… I lost track. PRs: 800 – 2:09, Mile – 4:41 (? I think), 5k – 16:09
– Post College Round 1: Ran for Scott Rackzo with DC Elite (Alan Webb, Samia Akbar, Nikeya Green, Steve Magness, Moise Joseph, Alyssa Aiken… and others), 5th at US Indoor Nats in the Mile: 4:38… I think this was in 2007? Carrie, it’s been so long!!! I think I also ran an open 800 in 2:08. Sidelined by a repetitive injury, forced to “retire” from the sport…
– Round 2: Got my butt kicked by Carrie during a CUCB 10 mile fun run! 15th @ Marathon Olympic Trials 2020. PRs: Mile: TBD, 5k: 15:04, Half: 69:59, Marathon: 2:34.
