Carissa Galloway is recognized globally as a Race Announcer, Registered Dietitian, Published Author, Podcaster, TV host, and mom. Her expertise spans nutrition, fitness, television hosting, and more.
Since 2005, Carissa has been a pioneer for women’s equality in the sports world, making history as the first female announcer for runDisney. In 2021, she became a crucial part of the IRONMAN triathlon announcing team, assuming the role of their first North American female lead announcer and the inaugural American female announcer at the IRONMAN World Championships. Carissa finds immense joy in her role as a race announcer and has had the honor of announcing for prestigious events such as the Boston Marathon, Twin Cities Marathon, Des Moines Marathon, Long Beach Marathon, and various other noteworthy road races and triathlons.
Beyond the racecourse, Carissa is a Registered Dietitian and an internationally recognized nutrition and fitness expert. Her appearances on E! TV, The Daily Buzz, Daytime TV, Emotional Mojo, CBS College Sports, and the Home Shopping Network in both the US and Australia underline her dedication. Locally, she has shared her expertise on over 25 top morning shows, including ABC Los Angeles, NBC New York, and FOX Boston. Carissa is fervent about spreading health and fitness awareness and frequently addresses corporations nationwide. Currently collaborating with Olympic runner Jeff Galloway as his dietitian, she is dedicated to assisting runners in achieving their fitness and health goals through nutrition.
As a dietitian, Carissa excels in blending her passion for nutrition with her on-camera experience, delivering evidence-based, approachable nutrition messages that yield long-term results. The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics acknowledged her as the “Media Dietitian of the Year.”
Before becoming a Registered Dietitian, Carissa thrived as a sports announcer and TV host, contributing to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, serving as the on-court emcee for the NBA’s Orlando Magic and Tampa Bay Rays, and co-hosting the travel show Hot Spots. In addition to being a certified personal trainer, she continues her role as a race announcer for RunDisney, presenting events nationwide.
Having graduated Summa Cum Laude as Valedictorian from Keiser University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, and previously earning a Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Central Florida with Magna Cum Laude honors, Carissa’s commitment to excellence is evident. As a six-time marathoner, she cherishes her free time spent traveling and enjoying moments with her husband Westin, daughter Claire, and son Eliud.
