Susannah Scaroni

Susannah Scaroni is coming off the best year of her career, which included runner-up finishes at the Boston Marathon, BMW Marathon and United Airlines NYC Half, a third-place finish at the Virgin Money London Marathon, and victories at the AJC Peachtree Road Race and the first-ever wheelchair division of the NYRR New York Mini 10K. She clocked a world-best 10K road time of 22:48 in securing her Mini 10K title in Central Park.Scaroni placed seventh in the Rio 2016 Paralympic marathon, finishing only two seconds back of a podium position. She’s had other strong performances at the Boston Marathon, placing third there in 2014 and 2015. At the TCS New York City Marathon, her best placing was fourth in 2016.Scaroni was raised in Tekoa, WA, and her passion for sports nutrition led her to a degree in dietetics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She still bases her training out of Champaign with the school’s highly successful wheelchair athletics program, and she also works for the U.S. Olympic Committee as a sports dietitian.
